... but all I got was this lousy video corruption!
Trying to play Counter-Strike 1.6 under Wine on Linux, I got this garbled screen. Looks like it tried to change to 640x480 but failed.
Restarted X and it played nicely. Sometimes (more like "always") I HATE X WINDOWS!
